Let's be honest, Sunday's Party in the Pocono's 400 wasn't very fun, unless you were Jimmie Johnson or a Jimmie Johnson fan. The 48 team made a laugher out of the race, going out from the pole, leading the most laps and winning the thing going away. "Great race car, clearly," said Johnson. "I mean, that car had a ton of speed in it, and not only the car but I think our engine really had a chance to shine today. I felt like it was a very well-rounded weekend for us clearly with speed, that speed, you need power, and then when we needed to back it down and save some fuel we could do that, too. " Yes the 48 team seems to have it all this season, and his three wins has him back in position to claim the top chase spot in two months.

This is not your father's stock car. But the next generation of NASCAR Sprint Cup race cars is actual your grandfather's stock car, more or less. As I wind from shop to shop two days into the NASCAR Sprint Cup Media Tour hosted by the Charlotte Motor Speedway, the consensus is this the new style of car races good, but they look great. More than two dozen fans were injured by large chunks of debris and a tire that flew into the stands from his car. Larson told The Associated Press on Tuesday the accident was not the worst of his career, and he won't have a second thought about racing again.

So it's day two of the NASCAR Media Tour and while today's stops have included visits with Roush Fenway and Earnhardt Ganassi racing, maybe the biggest stop of the day was a trip to the Charlotte Motor Speedway for the unveiling of the new 2013 Ford Cup car. Behind the scene photos It has long been a complaint of many people that NASCAR has totally lost touch with it's roots when it comes to the car. This is, after all the National...

Every driver, Down in NASCAR Liked points racing a lot... (okay not so much but work with me here) But Keselowski, Brad Keselowski, Did NOT! Keselowski hated points racing! The NASCAR post-season! Now, please don't ask why, Everyone knows the reason. It could be that his head wasn't screwed on quite right. It could be, perhaps, that his cars were setup too tight. But I think that the most likely reason of all May have been that he just liked winning most of all. But, Whatever the reason, His head or his cars, He stood there on Chase Eve, ready to take on NASCAR, Staring up from fourth place, with a his Keselowski frown At the vets and past Champions, who had all been around                                                         For he knew every driver both above and below                                                                        Has plotted a strategy, was ready to go. Have you all been following this "feud" between Denny Hamlin and Joey Logano? It's fantastic. Weren't they teammates less than four months ago? In case you missed it, Hamlin turned Logano when the two were racing for second last weekend at Bristol. After the race, Logano paid Hamlin a visit on pit road. A little pushing and shoving, a little yelling followed. "That's a freaking genius behind the wheel of the 11 car --probably the worst teammate I ever had," Logano said. "He decided to run in the back of me, so, whatever.

As NASCAR moves to the Granite State, the talk should be about the Chase, who might be a title contender and the other things that are fodder during the dog days of summer. But instead, the only thing anyone is talking about outside the NASCAR inner circle, is the positive drug test of AJ Allmendinger. "That is not in A.J. Allmendinger's character so I don't know what is going on there," Daytona winner Tony Stewart told the media in New Hampshire. "It's unfortunate because he's a good guy and he's a really good race car driver so I mean I would say there is probably a logical explanation for it. " The real reason many drivers, media and fans are looking for a logical explanation, and were so surprised, is because when drivers go 500 miles at around 200 mph, everyone takes for granted that the guy in the next car is sober when they do it. "I think the drug testing policy is a great thing," Matt Kenseth told NASCAR.com.

This week was already emotional for five time Sprint Cup Series Champion Jimmie Johnson. I mean it was emotional for everyone, the photos from Boston were both chilling and heartbreaking. But Johnson had a personal connection to the events, he had met one of the runners who was injured in Monday's bombing, Nicole Gross. "I think everyone dealt with grief and sadness and shock," said Johnson. "She's a swim coach and works with a lot of people. That hit home for me, I was like wow I know who that is. " But as the story continued its bizarre and tragic twists and turns, it became even more personal for Johnson and his Hendrick Motorsports teammates.

I know the eyes of the sports world will be on that little basketball tournament in Atlanta this weekend. But on the in between day, don't sleep on the race at the little track in Virginia. The Martinsville Speedway IS "madness" and we aren't in March anymore, so ratchet it up a notch. Short track, short tempers, that is what Martinsville is all about. In past races at the 1/2 mile track, we've seen finger  pointing, helmets fly, Ward Burton even threw his heel guards once. "It is so important to remain focused," said former Martinsville winner Jeff Burton.

Coming off a pretty good run at Daytona, Kansas native Clint Bowyer heads off to Phoenix 10th in the points. An 11th place run at Daytona may be disappointing to a guy like Bowyer who is pretty darn good at the restictor plate races, but he knows that it's also a solid start to the season. "It definitely could have been worse," said Bowyer. "You only have one shot at this race every year.  Another year gone by.  Not a fast race car.  Had some troubles with some of my teammates and even some of our other manufacturer buddies.

Saturday night NASCAR drops the green flag on its 2013 season and unveils a new generation of race car. The new cars are supposed to look more like the first generation cars, which first hit the track in 1949. See the 6 Generations of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Cars Large scale racing has been around for almost 40 years. But the idea of racing cars straight off the show room floor was relatively new. Five legends of stock car auto racing were enshrined into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, N.C., tonight during the Induction Ceremony held in the Crown Ballroom of the Charlotte Convention. Four were NASCAR pioneers, building the sport during its formative years; the other ushered it into modern times and its exploding popularity.   Combined, they make the fourth class of the NASCAR Hall of Fame. It's a group with talents that run the gamut necessary for NASCAR excellence: Unparalleled driving skills; team unifying and talent evaluating ownership prowess; a brilliant mechanical mind.
