Clouds will thicken tonight across much of Kansas.  Some light rain and flurries will be possible, especially in the central and southern parts of the state.  No icy travel is anticipated at this time amounts will be light.  Lows tonight will be in the teens northwest, to the 20s and 30s elsewhere. After a bit of light morning rain in the Wichita area, we'll see skies turn mostly cloudy.  More sunshine will be found in the northern and western areas of the state along with cooler temperatures.  Highs will be in the lower to middle 40s. Sunday will be a very pleasant day with more sunshine and highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s.  Clouds will thicken up Sunday and Monday as the next round of precipitation moves into the region.  While a light wintry mix will be possible in the west, the moisture should fall as rain in the east.  Highs will top out in the 40s and 50s. Milder temperatures will work in toward the middle of the work week.

The sensational 70s we enjoyed Wednesday will be pushed out of our region Thursday by a sold front that passed through Kansas early Thursday. Look for more clouds than sun, gusty northerly winds and much cooler temperatures in the wake of the cold front Thursday. Parts of our area could see a few, brief rain showers but most of the state will be dry. A wind advisory has been issued for the entire state with gusts of 40 to 50 mph expected.

The slow moving storm system hanging over the central and southern Plains will continue to provide Kansas with much needed moisture, including those areas in western Kansas. While it will not rain continuously for the next 2 days, there will be on and off showers scattered over the state. Lows tonight will be near 40 in the west, with lows near 50 in southcentral Kansas. Clouds and rain showers will continue on Wednesday with afternoon highs in the upper 50s east, but will only reach to around 50 for those areas in the west.

We'll still need our slickers or umbrellas as more rain showers parade their way across Kansas Wednesday afternoon delivering much needed moisture to our state. The slow moving storm system responsible for our cool, wet weather will continue to slowly slog its way though the central Plains and while it will not rain continuously, more rain and cool temperatures are likely through Thursday. We'll still see more scattered showers and afternoon storms Thursday as the main storm system wobbles over Kansas and temperatures will stay a bit cooler than average with highs in the mid-50s and light winds.

Expect increasing clouds across the state tonight with overnight lows dropping into the 20s, but a decent warming trend is expected into Monday afternoon. Afternoon highs will be back into the 40s over central Kansas, but mid 50s should be expected in western Kansas where the snow has completely melted. A weak storm system sliding through the area will bring a chance for much needed moisture to the state. With temperatures back above normal, it will be in the liquid form with rain showers moving through the area in the afternoon.

A weak weather system will move into Kansas this afternoon with light snow developing, initially over southwest Kansas.  By tonight, areas of light to at times moderate snow will transition to freezing drizzle by the early morning commute, so roadways could be slick across much of the central and eastern sections of the state.  A winter weather advisory has been posted from 8 p.m. tonight until 6 p.m. Monday. Monday morning, light to moderate snow will be found in eastern Kansas, with a wintry mix over parts of central and western Kansas.  Temperatures will continue to slowly climb, changing the leftover precipitation in the east to some light rain or drizzle by afternoon.  Accumulations will be around the 1-2" range for Wichita and Salina, with more southeast of the Kansas Turnpike.

A cold and cloudy St. Patty's Day across Kansas.  A few sprinkles, mixed with flurries and freezing drizzle across central and southwest Kansas this morning, however not enough reaching the ground to cause travel problems.  Maybe a few peeks of sun (especially in the west) by afternoon. Highs will reach the mid 50s in the far west, with 40s central and east. The wind will be turning to the southeast late in the day, and will be gusty across the west.  Towards evening there is a slight chance our next "weaker" weather system might produce a few sprinkles or showers during the early evening.

The relentless Kansas wind will continue to howl Wednesday especially over the eastern half of our state ahead of potent cold front. Look for mostly cloudy to cloudy skies and highs in the 60s. Gusty southerly winds will be found east of the front but over the central and west, a north to northeast wind will prevail with much cooler highs only in the 40s and 50s. A few showers will be possible by late afternoon near the front around central...

Unseasonably cool air continues to filter south across Kansas, and could result in some near record low temperatures for Friday morning. The chance for evening storms will be ending in southcentral Kansas, but the clouds will be hanging around through the night. A few showers may develop in northwest Kansas after midnight, but it will be very light. Lows will dip down into the mid and upper 50s, which will threaten records in many parts of the state. Scattered rain showers are possible Friday throughout central and western Kansas.
