A man suffered minor injuries after a rollover accident in downtown Wichita. It happened near Murdock and Hillside around 3:45 p.m. Friday. Police said they were trying to stop the driver of an SUV for a traffic violation. The driver stopped the vehicle, then took off when the officer got out of the patrol car. Investigators said the officer could smell marijuana as he approached the car. The driver turned onto Murdock from Hillside, clipped the curb and rolled. The chase lasted less than one minute.

A Great Bend man has died after a rollover accident in Kingman County. Emergency crews were called to the scene on K-14, about five miles south of Kingman around 2 p.m. Thursday. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Brian Mott, 32, was driving south when his car veered off the west side of the road. He over-corrected, causing the vehicle to rolls several times. Mott was thrown from the car. Investigators said he was not wearing a seat belt.

A teenager was rushed to a Wichita hospital after a rollover accident southeast of Mulvane. It happened near K-15 and Greenwich Rd. around 5:15 p.m. Saturday. The Sumner County Sheriff's office said a 19-year-old man was driving south on K-15, when he tried to pass in the right lane. He lost control of his vehicle, went into the ditch and hit a tree line. The impact threw the teenager from the car. He was taken to Wesley Medical Center with potentially life-threatening injuries.

One person is now in good condition after a rollover crash south of Wichita late Sunday. Emergency crews were called to 79th Street South and Hillside around 9:30 Sunday evening. Officials at the scene tell us the driver didn't slow down at a curve. He rolled his pickup, which landed on top of him. The 32-year-old driver was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, but was upgraded. No one else was hurt.

Rollover accidents have more than doubled in Kansas since 1998. Law enforcement say the increase has happened since people started using cell phones while driving. Take a look at some these numbers. In 1998 more than 1,800 rollover accidents happened in Kansas. In 2003, when people started using cell phones rollover accidents increased to about 4,300. And the most recent numbers from 2008 show an average of 4,100 rollovers a year. Wichita Police Department Lt. Joe Schroeder will tell you electronic devices are increasingly to blame for car accidents.

A man dies after a rollover accident in Rice County. The sheriff's department says the accident happened Wednesday night about two and a half miles east of Little River. They say 34-year-old Brandon Wolf lost control of his suburban and went off the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene. They say he was not wearing a seat belt.

One man is dead, another in the hospital after a rollover accident in Barton County. Richard Newick died after he ran a stop sign at the intersection of K-4 and Highway 281 Sunday morning. He was hit by another car, struck a telephone pole and then rolled into a ditch. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.

A Reno County woman is in critical condition at a Wichita hospital. She was hurt when the SUV she was in collided with a semi near U.S. 50 and Airport Road in Hutchinson. Twenty-four year-old tammy lenz was flown to Wesley Medical Center. Two other people suffered less serious injuries.

A car crash in Butler county sends three people to a Wichita hospital, one of them in critical condition. The accident happened Wednesday afternoon at K-254 and Butler Road. The Kansas Highway Patrol says the driver of a white mini-van pulled into on-coming traffic after failing to yield and was hit by a silver minivan. The driver of the first vehicle suffered critical injuries. Paramedics took two other people to a wichita hospital to be check out.

Wichita police are on the scene of a rollover accident at Central & Hillside in northeast Wichita. The crash happened just after ten o'clock Friday night. There is now word on any injuries. Drivers are urged to avoid the intersection as police clear the scene and investigation, which will likely take several hours.
