When you think of animal ordinances, leash laws and barking dogs usually come to mind, not chickens. But that's the case in one Kansas town. His neighbors call him "Chicken Man. " Robert Schulte has 12 chickens in his backyard. He says he was surprised to hear about the complaints to the city council in Park City about chickens. He doesn't know if his chickens are the problem. "I mean it doesn't matter anyway, it's not like I'm harboring wild horses, lions and tigers and bears in the backyard," he says.

In the past two weeks, kansas storms have damaged homes and businesses with strong winds. But those winds are also displacing and injuring Mississippi Kites. The Kites hatch late in the year, so a lot of young birds are just learning to fly. In just ten days the Eagle Valley Raptor Center, Near Cheney has taken in 31 of these birds after they were blown from their nests or injured. "We try to put them back up in the nest if possible, that's always the first choice, but in the event they cannot, then we will take them in," explains Ken Lockwood, Program Director for the center.
