Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin comes to Kansas. The 2008 Republican Vice-Presidential nominee spoke at the Salina Area Chamber of Commerce annual meeting and dinner Friday night. Palin addressed a packed house at the Salina Bicentennial Center. More than 6,000 tickets were sold for the event. Eyewitness News was allowed to record video of the event, but not audio. Kansas Congressman and U.S. Senate candidate Jerry Moran introduced Palin. She spoke for nearly 40 minutes on a variety of topics including the economy and national security.

by Robert Marin (WICHITA, Kan.) Tickets are still available to see Sarah Palin in Wichita, and hundreds are now being offered for $15. The former Alaska governor and Republican Vice-Presidential candidate will appear Sunday evening at Intrust Bank Arena as part of a fundraiser for the Bethel Life School. Officials with Bethel say they have met their goal for attendance, and are now offering more than 2,000 tickets for $15 each to the general public. Wichita's Intrust Bank Arena continues to make a profit. Sedgwick County Commissioners released a report detailing May revenue. The arena generated around $400,000 in net income, which is what's left after paying the arena's bills.  Since it opened in January, it's profited $1.6 million. More than 43,000 people attended nine shows at the arena in May. That includes around 2,900 for Sarah Palin's fundraiser, 9,000 for Brooks and Dunn and 11,000 for Nickelback.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Governor Sebelius is among Democrats shooting back at GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. Sebelius said today that Palin "mastered the words written by the Bush speechwriters" to deliver "partisan attacks and no real solutions. " The comments were similar to those by Democratic vice-presidential hopeful Joe Biden on television networks this morning. The Democratic rapid response team in Denver scrambled to get Sebelius on a media conference call to respond to Palin.

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is calling for a "clean break" from the Bush administration's energy policies, which she says relied too much on importing foreign oil. In a policy address Wednesday in Toledo, Ohio, Palin says the recent drop in oil and gas prices shouldn't prevent the development of alternative energy sources. The Alaska governor renewed her call for more drilling in U.S. coastal waters and said she and GOP presidential candidate John McCain would press for the construction of 45 new nuclear power plants by 2030.

(WICHITA, Kan.) As James Tucker displays his Obama and McCain sculptures carved from wood for a family reunion, his sister Tilly ponders the possibility of a female vice president. "I think it's great but I would not want to see John McCain's vice president be a woman," Tilly Madden says. She says she'll still vote for Obama, hoping the Democrats will one day be the first party to cross that barrier. The Plaza of Heroines at Wichita Sate University honors women who are admired and emulated for their acheivements.

By Eyewitness News A year ago, Barack Obama was elected President of the United States. Tuesday night's election results may show the president's influence... or lack thereof. In Virginia, Republican Bob McDonnell beat out Democrat Creigh Deeds, who had President Obama's support. Voters in Virginia said the economy was a bigger factor in their decision than President Obama. In New Jersey, Republican Chris Christie beat out incumbent Democrat Jon Corzine.

Latest Update - Thursday 11/05 Update Due to the volume of ticket requests for the Sarah Palin event, the Salina Area Chamber is suspending all ticket request until further notice. The chamber says the volume of requests it has received is too much to handle. The chamber is approaching a complete sellout. If people have called and made a request already, it will be processed. However as of Thursday, the chamber will no longer take any requests. (SALINA, Kan.)

About 600 people showed up to see former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin in Andover for the latest stop on her book tour. The former Republican vice presidential candidate and Alaska governor is promoting "American by Heart: Reflections on Family, Faith, and Flag. " The book is her first since her memoir, "Going Rogue. " The tour began two weeks ago in Phoenix, the home state of her 2008 running mate, John McCain. People started waiting in line early Sunday morning at the Andover Dillions for wristbands and copies of the book.

There's controversy surrounding Sarah Palin's keynote speech at the Tea Party convention in Nashville. Howver, it doesn't involve what the former Alaska governor said. Several blogs, including one at the Wall Street Journal , have posted close-up image of Palin's left hand during her speech. On it you can see the words energy, budget cuts, tax and lift American spirits. Video of the event shows Palin looking at her hand on numerous occassions. Many Palin critics have called her hypocritical for attacking President Obama's use of a teleprompter.
