A house fire leaves a Wichita man in critical condition. It happened late Monday in the 1900 block of South Waco. Firefighters were called to the home and found that the fire was already out, but a 55-year-old man person was inside suffering from smoke inhalation. Emergency dispatchers tell us the man was smoking while on an oxygen tank.

Fire crews respond to a fire at Palmer Manufacturing and Tank in Garden City. It happened shortly after ten o'clock Monday morning in the 2800 block of W. Buffalo Jones Avenue. Fire officials tell us the building was 50-percent involved when fire crews were called to the scene. The fire was under control a few hours later. Crews are still on the scene putting out hot spots and making sure the fire is completely out. Two workers were taken to the hospital where they're being treated for smoke inhalation.

A woman is taken to the hospital in serious condition after an apartment fire in Southeast Wichita. It happened just after 5 o'clock Saturday evening in the 3300 block of East 31st South. That is at the Southern Hills Apartment Complex. Officers say the victim suffered from smoke inhalation.

Two people are in critical condition and two others in serious condition after a house fire in El Dorado. It happened Sunday afternoon in the 1900 block of Jason Drive. Authorities say the patients suffered minor burns and smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Firefighters are on the scene of a house fire in east Wichita. At this point, we know one person is in critical condition. A 911 dispatchers says the person has smoke inhalation. One person is treated for smoke inhalation after a house fire in Haysville. Firefighters from Wichita, Sedgwick County and McConnell arrived to smoke and flames coming from a home in the 700 block of W. Chelsea at around 1 p.m. on Friday. Fire investigators say the fire started in the basement of the home and went up to the outside rear of the home. Most of the roof burned in the fire too. A dog that was thought to be missing was found. No other injuries were reported.

Sedgwick County fire investigators say a fire that sent a 17-year-old boy to the hospital was electrical in nature. The fire started around 3:30 Thursday afternoon while the teen was working on his car in a garage. Damage is estimated at $200,000. Crews kept the fire from spreading to the home. An amplifier capacitor in the garage ignited, causing the fire. The teen was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation but later released. Our news partners at KFDI radio contributed to this report.

Officials at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility are trying to figure out what caused a fire Sunday evening. According to the prison, the fire was reported in the center way of D Cell House shortly after 5:00 Sunday. The Hutchinson Fire Department was called in to put it out. Damage is minimal and no one was hurt. This is the second fire at the facility in the past month. An inmate was treated for smoke inhalation after a fire in his cell in October. Prison staff put out that fire.

A woman is recovering from minor injuries after trying to save her car from a garage fire. It happened at a home near Viola Tuesday afternoon. Police say a propane truck driver spotted the flames, then alerted the homeowners about the danger. Firefighters arrived to find the garage fire fully involved. The garage and a car were destroyed in the blaze. A woman was taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. The cause remains under investigation.

Firefighters respond to a house fire in Valley Center Saturday morning. It broke out around 8am in the 39-hundred block of West 89th St. North. When crews arrived they found fire coming out of the roof. The fire was in the attic space. Two people were home at the time of the fire, they were able to get out okay. A law enforcement officer at the scene did suffer from smoke inhalation. Damage is estimated at around $50,000. Authorities say the majority of the damage was from water damage.
