It's hard to say that six and a half minutes defines a season. But in the game of basketball, it can definitely make or break it. In Saturdays NCAA tournament opener with Texas A&M, the Wichita Lady Shockers went from leading 20-19 to trailing 35-22. It was a hole they could not recover from. "Basketball is a game of momentum," said senior Chynna Turner. "We feed off our defense. A&M went on a run and we weren't stopping them. " The Lady Shox started strong, neutralizing the Aggies decided height advantage by getting the A&M biggs in foul trouble.

Six teams are bowl eligible, with Iowa State, West Virginia and Baylor still battling for chances to fill out the league's bowl slots. Kansas State (10-0, 7-0 Big 12) can clinch at least a share of its first conference championship since 2003 with a win Saturday night at Baylor. Kansas State is so close to getting to play for its first national title. With two more wins, the Wildcats almost certainly will be headed to the BCS championship game. The Wildcats (10-0) are up a spot to No. 2 in the new AP poll Sunday. With its victory at TCU (6-4) and Alabama's loss, K-State is also set to move up a spot in the new BCS standings later Sunday. That would make them No. 1 in that. Kansas State has games left against Baylor and No. 18 Texas. The last time the Wildcats were this close to a national title was 1998.
