Kansas State and Kansas tied for the regular-season Big 12 title, but that doesn't mean they feel very good about themselves entering the league tournament. The Wildcats lost a road game against Oklahoma State on Saturday, while the Jayhawks were routed by Baylor a few hours later in a game that would have given them the outright title. Consider it proof that the Big 12 tournament should be unpredictable. West Virginia and Texas Tech open Wednesday night at Sprint Center, with the winner advancing to play Kansas.

By Chris Durden (WICHITA, Kan.) Even if the Big XII ends tomorrow, member schools will have to play together for at least the 2010-2011 season. Nebraska, which joined the Big Ten on Friday, wants to begin play in 2011. However, schools must give the Big XII two years notice if they plan to leave. According to the Lawrence Journal-World, Nebraska would lose half the revenue earned during that time and up to 90-percent for leaving early. Nebraska wouldn't have to pay anything if the conference dissolves.

Junior forward Jordan Henriquez has been reinstated to the Kansas State men's basketball team, head coach Frank Martin announced Tuesday evening. “I feel the time away has helped Jordan re-energize and re-focus his efforts for our basketball team,” said Martin. “He has three years of credibility built up in our program and has been an outstanding representative of Kansas State University, having earned recognition to two Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Rolls. Like a lot of young people, he just lost his focus and needed time to understand his priorities.” Martin said that Henriquez returned to practice on Tuesday and traveled with the rest of the team to Lubbock, Texas, for Wednesday's game at Texas Tech. He is available for the game, but Martin indicated he had not determined whether he would play in the game.
