A scam that's common on the phone has now moved to Facebook. Someone, supposedly a friend or family member, pleading for help. Jeff Wood called FactFinder 12 after losing thousands. He says it started with a Facebook chat with a person he thought was a friend. “I said what can we do for you. She said we need help. She said I need some money,” says Wood. Wood didn't hesitate. “She said I need $1,250 and I didn't think twice…I said we'll do it.” The scammer had actually hacked into his friends account and claimed to have been robbed in London.

More than a thousand people take part in the Cards for a the Cure tournament. The two day Texas Hold em' event began on Friday where the participants competed for a chance to win a trip to Lass Vegas and play in a World Poker Tour or World Series of Poker tournament. More importantly, all the money that was raised went for the Mid-Kansas Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure for their fight against breast cancer. The inaugural event raised over $90,000. Up to 75% of that will stay in the 95 counties to provide education and outreach, survivorship services, and screening services for those less fortunate.

Thousands of fans filled Koch Arena in Wichita Friday to welcome the Shockers back after winning the NIT Tournament in New York. The team's chartered plane arrived in Wichita just before five o'clock. Fans were even waiting at the airport to welcome them back. The team had a police escort to Koch Arena and arrived to fans cheering and screaming. Wichita Mayor Carl Brewer talked about how proud the city was of the team's efforts. Coach Gregg Marshall and members of the team each spoke to the crowd and expressed their thanks for the support and how much the win means to them.

General aviation companies in Wichita hosted a large pep-rally to mark a visit by U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood. The event drew several thousand employees from Cessna, Bombardier, Hawker Beechcraft and other Kansas aviation companies. The firms wanted to showcase what they say is a $7 billion annual contribution by general aviation to the Wichita economy. LaHood noted the general aviation industry's 1.2 million jobs and its $150 billion contribution to the nation's economy.

A call to FactFinder 12 leads to the discovery of thousands of personal documents dumped in a Wichita alley. Lone Star Business Solutions, a third party payroll and human resource company for Lone Star restaurants, dumped the documents in a large dumpster behind its building in downtown Wichita. FactFinder 12 found thousands of personal documents including W-4 forms, employee applications, and employee files. Almost all the forms have Social Security numbers, addresses, and phone numbers from across the country.

The 36th Annual, Original Blarney Breakfast, a benefit for Rainbows United ushered in St. Patrick's Day celebrations this morning at Old Chicago East in Wichita. More than 1,000 people attended, so far, resulting in a total of $25,000 in proceeds to benefit children birth - 21 with special needs served through Rainbows' Targeted Case Management Program. One of the highlights of the morning was the gift of a specialized piece of therapy equipment called at stander to 13-year-old Jayden Hauber.

Joe Freed works side by side with what he loves the most, his animals. So, it's no wonder that birds, like Maynard, inspired him to create an animal incubator. "When a baby is born prematurely in the hospital they put it in an isolette, that is what we make but for animals," says Joe Freed. In a shop, barely big enough to hold all his pets, Freed manufactures animal intensive care units. But unlike a person, sick animals of any age can benefit from the incubator.

An estimated 8,000 to 9,000 people filled INTRUST Bank Arena Saturday night as the Wichita Thunder honored wounded marine. Sgt. Jonathan Blank lost his legs to an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan last October, watched fellow Marines and others pay him tribute on the ice in a pre-game ceremony. Congressman Mike Pompeo introduced Blank and presented him with an American flag. In full uniform, Blank watched the ceremony from a suite above the ice. Blank is spending some time at home before turning to a military hospital in Texas to continue rehabilitation.

The massive winter storm moving across the central United States has led to thousands of flight cancellations from coast-to-coast. There are major delays and cancellations in Chicago, Dallas, the three major New York City airports and Boston. Delays are also reported in Los Angeles, Washington and Atlanta, which are not in the path of the storm. In all, some 10,000 flights are impacted. AirTran, United, Delta, American and Continental all cancelled flights into and out of Wichita's Mid-Continent Airport on Tuesday.

It was hard to see where the line ended. "If you wanted a meal, you waited," says Angela Aggisons. Some, up to three hours. But once they got to the front, those who walked up with nothing, walked away with everything for Thanksgiving dinner. Angela Aggisions came for her four kids. This holiday season, she's unemployed. "Its going to give us a meal for this holiday so i'm happy for that," says Aggisons. Angela was surprised by the amount of food she got to take home.
