The Kansas Jayhawks finished this season with a 3-9 record so it's pretty obvious that head coach Turner Gill would look to make some changes for next season. The biggest change affects former Dodge City quarterback Kale Pick who will move permanently to the wide receiver position next year. That's pretty much the same route that Kerry Meier took when Todd Reesing took over as quarterback. Gill also said that he is planning on adding one or two more quarterbacks to the roster.

One did it in the air, the other on the ground and both won championships on undefeated teams. Both Josh Smith of Hutchinson and Wichita Collegiate’s Blake Jablonski set and smashed records during their prep careers. But despite all that, neither was highly recruited. "A little tough to swallow," said Josh Smith, who was only recruited by Navy, the Air Force Academy and Pittsburg State. Jablonski received an invitation from Wake Forest and looks from some Division II and III schools, but nothing more than that.

Kansas and Kansas State meet on the football field for the 109th time Saturday in Lawrence. It's the 13 th most played game in college football. To call this a 'storied' rivalry would be a bit of a stretch. KU has dominated the all-time series, but has struggled greatly against Bill Snyder. The Wildcats have won 14 of the last 15 matchups under the K-State leader by an average margin of 31 points and were 59-7 winners in Lawrence a year ago. A scheduling quirk with the departure of Nebraska and Colorado from the Big 12 has this game back in Lawrence for a second straight year, just as Texas A&M will go into Manhattan for a second straight season in three weeks.

He says his mentors and experience at the pro and college level have prepared him for this job. Weis says over the years, he's learned to show humility but he's never lost his passion or drive to win. "I want to win, I'm a bad loser.
