Severe storms will once again be possible over central and eastern Kansas for Sunday, including the possibility for hail, high winds, and a few tornadoes. Overnight, storms will continue moving east and should be weakening with time. Lows will be in the 50s and 60s and it will be staying humid. Sunday should be mainly dry in the morning, but high humidity and some sunshine should help develop storms by mid to late afternoon. The greatest potential for tornadoes will be along and east of I-135.

A weak, slow moving, cold front will drop into our area Wednesday and stall-out across northern Kansas.  In addition, an upper level storm system is moving northeast through Oklahoma, which will help to spark widely scattered storms.  Central and eastern parts of our state will likely see storms develop after 3 or 4 p.m. with some isolated large hail and wind gusts to 60 mph. Storms will weaken or move out by midnight. Afternoon highs Wednesday will be in the 80s statewide. A few, more isolated storms, may move through western and northern Kansas Thursday but the activity will be very spotty.

Another day of severe weather for Kansas.  The area of most concern today-  south central and eastern Kansas.  An approaching cold front, combined with a dry line (lower humidity/dewpoint) will slowly move across the area during the afternoon.  These weather features combined with outflow boundaries (cooler, stable air-from morning storms) will be the focal point for severe thunderstorm development after 3 P.M.  The greatest potential for tornadoes will be along and east of I-135 and southward into northern Oklahoma.

Plenty of clouds will be around Kansas today.  Showers and storms however, will be rather hit and miss.  The best chance to see storms will be in northwest Kansas and don't be shocked if some severe weather develops there.  Large hail and high winds will be the main concerns but an isolated tornado can't be ruled out either. Highs will be mostly in the 70s, with a few 80s in southwest Kansas.  The overall weather pattern heading into the holiday weekend looks warm and breezy.  While the weekend won't be a total washout, there will enough warmth and moisture to get a few isolated showers and storms to pop up.  Highs will warm to the 80s in the east with lower 90s in the west.
