A spirit day at a Milwaukee elementary school causes national outrage. The school sent home a letter to parents about "mix it up day. " The idea was for boys to dress as girls, and girls to dress as boys. "It was a completely harmless, nothing behind it. It was meant to be a social thing and not a controversial thing at all. It was a student idea," said Heather Frank, a teacher at Tippecanoe School. She says most parents were supportive. But a few parents were offended by the idea.

The state of Kansas gives its official website a facelift. Kansas.gov ( http://www.kansas.gov ) now has a new look and feel that the state believes will be easier to navigate. “Kansas is considered the birthplace of eGovernment. For nearly 20 years, the state's information portal, Kansas.gov, has provided citizens and businesses with efficient electronic access to Kansas government information and services,” Governor Sam Brownback said in a press release. “Today the site receives more than four million page views annually. This new redesign will allow visitors to easily and more efficiently interact with Kansas government.” Website highlights include: Find It!

The official website for Prince William and Catherine Middleton's upcoming wedding received 200,000 hits in its first eight hours. The royal family promises to post exclusive details of the wedding day on the website. It will eventually reveal details on Middleton's wedding dress.

Technological advancements can make it easier for students to cheat on their work. But technology is also making it easier to catch cheaters. Many schools and universities across Kansas and the country use websites to catch plagiarism. Essentially, here's how it works: a student will write a paper, and email it to the professor through a website like turnitin.com . Then the website will pick out every passage that was lifted, highlight them, and tell the professor how much of the paper came from other sources.

Hutchinson's "tea party" calls itself the Patriot Freedom Alliance. Nobody would expect the group's website to say good things about President Obama. But some, including the head of the local NAACP, say the group has crossed the line. "As far as I'm concerned it's proof of the kind of organization that they are, which I felt it always had racial overtones in the first place," Hutchinson NAACP President Darrell Pope says. The website displayed a photo of a skunk with a caption saying: "The skunk has replaced the eagle as the new symbol for the president. It is half black, it is half white, and almost everything it does, stinks.

Just a day before local elections a state voting website malfunctions. At least one Kansas county is worried about what that could mean for turnout Tuesday. "Did you want to electronic vote or paper vote?" asked one elections worker in the basement of the Reno County Courthouse Monday. Voters arrived for their last chance to cast an early ballot. "I'd like to get some changes done, so wanted to vote," said Jessica Stussy from Haven. On the main floor of the courthouse, election officials worked on final preparations for Tuesday.

He calls it an epidemic in education, teachers and students having sexual relationships. Kurt Brundage was sentenced to prison last week for having sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl. Brundage is a former East High teacher and started his own website about the issue. "The fact that you've never heard anyone talking about it, is the problem, that in of itself is the problem," said attorney Jesse Hoeme. Hoeme is Brundage's defense attorney. He says the former teacher started the website to try and make something good out of a bad situation.

As Salina authorities investigate a woman's disappearance, a Salina man hopes a website he created will help bring her, and other missing Kansans, home safe. Rick Tebrugge is behind the Facebook page Kansas Missing & Unsolved . It's a forum profiling missing person's cases across the state. Some of the cases are decades old. Tebrugge said when he heard about Kristin Tyler, he went to work on this Facebook page. "I guess you could say she's one of my own, she's from Salina, I'm trying to help," he said.
