By Eyewitness News (WICHITA, Kan.) Wesley Medical Center is holding a free medication consultation clinic today.  The clinic is part of a grant from t he Cardinal Health Foundation.  Several clinics will be held in the coming weeks (See schedule below) A Wesley pharmacist will be on hand to help visitors with preparing printed and electronic lists of their medications.  "The medications you take, including over-the-counter drugs, herbal products, and supplements, may have a significant effect on how you react to medications a physician gives you, " said Jack Bond, Wesley Pharmacy Director.

Since Wednesday night, Melanie Blevins and Jayson Jones have been by their son's side. "It's been a whirlwind," said Melanie. And as hard as it is to see their son in a hospital bed, it's even harder for two year-old Maverick to be stuck inside. "He can't really even play in the playroom they have here because he's still considered contagious. " But it's situations like theirs that inspires good deeds like the ones Friday night. "We're here with the Kyrie Foundation and we just brought some goodies for your little one," announced a woman in a full Easter Bunny costume as she popped into a patients room.

A man is critically hurt in a motorcycle crash in southeast Wichita. The crash happened just after six Wednesay night in the 3300 block of 31st Street South. Police say a car was turning and collided with the rider. Paramedics took the man to Wesley Medical Center. No one else was hurt in the crash.

A 19-year-old woman is critically hurt in car accident. The accident happened on Southwest 170th near Rose Hill Saturday morning. A Butler County Deputy says she was driving too fast on a gravel road when she lost control and hit a tree. No other cars were involved. The woman was taken to Wesley Medical Center. Deputies don't believe the woman was drinking alcohol before the accident.

Salina police are investigating injuries suffered by a baby girl. The 18-month old was taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita Sunday afternoon. Her mother asked a neighbor to call 9-1-1 after finding the baby wasn't breathing. At last check, the baby was still alive and being treated at Wesley. Salina investigators say they do not know if any criminal charges will be filed. They have not released any names.

Police say they are not sure how long a man laid bleeding and unconscious in a Wichita park before he was found. Officers discovered the 28 year old shortly before 8:00am on Sunday, near Edgemoor & Murdock.  He was found bleeding from the head, with severe facial and skull fractures.  He was rushed to Wesley Medical Center in critical condition. So far investigators have not been able to talk to the victim about the incident.  They can only say he assaulted sometime between 11:40 pm Saturday and 7:50am Sunday.

Wichita police are investigating after a teenager walked into Wesley Medical Center with a gunshot wound. Dispatchers said the 15-year-old boy walked into the hospital for treatment around 9 p.m. Saturday. He was suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest and shoulder area. His injuries were described as life-threatening. Police are looking into where the teen was shot, and how he arrived at the hospital. More information is expected to be released during a media briefing Sunday.

A Wichita Police Sergeant is recovering after a crash early Friday morning in Old Town.  It happened just before 2:00 am at First and Rock Island Road. Police say the sergeant parked his squad car along First Street and was getting out when the car was broadsided by a second vehicle.  The squad car then struck the officer, causing him to fall and hit his head on the pavement. The officer was taken to Wesley Medical Center to get checked out.  Luckily, he only suffered some bruising.

A Hays woman says her trip to Wichita to see a sick family member at Wesley Medical Center could have ended at the hospital's entrance.  She says security stopped her for trying to bring-in two "therapy dogs. "  Factfinder12 found-out why there was so much confusion. Lucy and Lola are not meant to be a fashion statement. "They do look like pets, but they're not," Mary Copeland said. The two Chihuahuas provide Copeland something nothing else can. "She just keeps me calm.  She licks me if she can tell I'm getting anxious," Copeland said.

Wesley Medical Center on Wednesday announced its acquisition of Wichita's Galicia Heart Hospital. The move gives Wesley three emergency departments in town, at 13th & Tyler, Central & Hillside, and the Galicia facility on north Woodlawn. Those three served almost 100-thousand patients in 2011. Wesley officials say they have contracts or agreements with all major insurance carriers. Dr. Joseph Galicia said after selling his facility he will continue to practice, hoping to provide "great care at a place where patients feel comfortable and safe.
