Wichita police say 177 speeding tickets were handed out during special traffic enforcement on Rock Road Wednesday. Officers from six different agencies helped patrol different areas of Rock Road for 24 hours. They were looking for things like speeders and drunk drivers. Here are the number of violations for the entire operation: Speeding: 177 Seat Belt Violations: 81 Turn Violations: 33 No Proof of Insurance: 33 DUI: 3 Registration/Tag Violations: 14 Drivers License Violations: 12 Stop Sign/Light Violations: 11 Other Violations: 23 Wichita Police say, along their part of Rock Road, the highest speeds were a driver going 63 in a 40 mile per hour zone on south Rock Road and a driver going 58 in a 40 on north Rock Road.

A little more than a week ago, Justin Thull and two of his co-workers spent a beautiful Friday afternoon outside the Holy Land Mediterranean Grill on Douglas. Thull ordered some hummus with beef "to-go" "It was 14 dollars and 46 cents I think,” Thull said. But when Thull checked his bank statement the following Monday, he noticed his leisurely lunch cost him 50-bucks more, $64.46. "I went by there Tuesday, and that's when the doors were locked, the lights were off, and nobody was there,” Thull said.

Wichita police say it could take longer to identify the 32-year-old landscaper who was hit by a van last week. Authorities are using fingerprints to help them, and several agencies are involved. The driver who police say struck a landscaper in northeast Wichita Friday, then drove home with the man's body on top of his minivan, is out of jail on bond. 67-year-old Dr. Mohammad Sarrafizadeh, was booked Friday night on a single count of Failure to Stop at an Injury Accident.

Wichita police are reviewing their procedures after a packet of gang information was accidentally released and is circulating in the public. The paperwork gives specific information about the shooting death of 19 year-old Darius Gasper who was killed in September. At the time police said the shooting was the result of a dispute between rival gangs. The packet is full of detailed gang information and specific intelligence gathered by the police gang unit. It's was intended only for law enforcement officers but people can now find the information all over town. Some are even picking it up at Walmart.

He's been missing since Wednesday night, now Kerry Smith is recovering at an area hospital. A spokesperson for the family says Smith was outdoors the whole time he was missing. Overnight temperatures were as low as 19-degrees, that's more than 10-degrees below freezing. Smith has severe frost bite but is expected to be okay. Police are not releasing any details about the crime suffered by Smith because the investigation is ongoing. --- Wichita police are attempting to locate a missing man. 50-year-old Kerry Smith hasn't been seen since 10:00 Wednesday night.

The Connecticut school shooting has many Wichita parents asking about their child's safety at school. Every school has individual crisis plans specific to it's building and number of students. Each school practices drills on how to evacuate and what to do in a lockdown situation. Plus, the district has teamed up with Wichita Police to prepare for events like a shooting. "We do training and coordination with the Wichita Police Department in their active shooter protocol and their response, it is based on the FBI/ Secret Service response to the Columbine situation," said Wichita Schools Security Services Executive Director Debbie McKenna.

Wichita police are looking for at least two suspects after a jewelry store owner was mugged overnight. It happened near the victim's home in the 800 block of W. Mt. Vernon. Police say the 61-year-old man closed his jewelry store in the 300 block of E. Harry and drove home late Tuesday. When he got out of his car, he was carrying two bags from the store. The victim was approached by two men who demanded the bags. One of the suspects was armed with what the victim described as a tazer-like device. The suspect did activate the device, but did not attack the victim with it. The victim gave the bags to the suspects, who took off in a car. Police say the bags contained jewels, a handgun and a significant amount of cash.

A Wichita police officer is on administrative leave after firing on a suspect in the 2800 block of W. Pawnee overnight. Police say the officer was working on paperwork in a parking lot when he saw someone looking around the corner of a nearby building, then go away. Moments later, he noticed the man reappear from around the building with what appeared to be a rifle. "The subject started raising the rifle toward the officer," said Sgt. Brian Sigman of the Wichita Police Department, "The officer got out of the vehicle and proceeded to start firing toward the direction of the individual because he thought we was ready to get shot at. " Police say the officer was acting in self defense.

She was found beaten, naked and dead in a Wichita alley. Now police are trying to retrace her steps. Police found 44-year old Janis Sanders' body in an alley between a vacant house and a business near Lincoln and Washington. "It's scary. It's really scary it's close to home," said Diane Schmidt who lives nearby. Police say she was murdered and while they don't know exactly how, police say she was badly beaten. "She was clearly beaten but we don't know if that was the cause of death yet, the autopsy will show that," said Deputy Chief Tom Stolz with the Wichita Police Department.
