After Thursday, Wichita Public Schools have no snow days left. A spokesperson says at this point the district doesn't have to make up any classtime, but that could change - it's only the beginning of February. The district cancelled 3 days of school this week and two days in earlier in January. Wichita State University has cancelled all classes on Wednesday for a second day in a row. Wichita Public Schools have also cancelled classes due to the winter weather. Non-attendance centers will be open. A decision on the status of classes for Thursday will be made later. Parents bundle up your students this Thursday morning. Wichita Public Schools will be in session today. The district says to be patient because some buses may be runing 10 to 15 minutes late. The district urges parents to dress their child warm for the cold weather and to wait with them in a car or inside somewhere.

Wichita Public Schools are taking what officials call a "first step" in asking for community feedback in the USD 259 superintendent search.  On Tuesday morning, the school district posted a superintendent search survey on its website. The survey is four pages long asking parents questions and allowing for further comments. WPS Superintendent Survey School district spokesperson Susan Arensman says the questions follow three key topics the Board of Education want to focus on.  The topics are the direction of Wichita Public Schools, upcoming challenges and priorities, and characteristics of the new superintendent.

  Every day, you put your trust in someone you don't know to get your kids to and from school safely. But a Kechi mom says that trust was shattered after her daughter's bus driver took pictures of her and other little girls on the bus.  Shayla Johnston says when she tried to get information about the bus driver, she was told no. Wichita Public Schools contracts with Durham School Services. Since Durham is a private company, it is not required to disclose employee information.
