The Emergency Accident Report Plan or EARP is in effect for the city of Wichita. If you are in an accident and n o one is hurt, n o drugs or alcohol is suspected, and the vehicles are driveable then exchange information and do not call 911. Within 24-hours, fill out and turn in an accident reporting form. You can find them at any Wichita police substation or QuikTrip.

People in downtown Wichita will soon notice something new - a skywalk. It will connect the future Drury Plaza Hotel - known as the Broadview- to its parking garage across Waco Street. Crews are now building the skywalk.  That means, Waco St. is closed between Douglas and First street for another week.

Firefighters responded to a house fire Thursday night in the 5300 block of E. Crestview Court in Wichita. The fire was out in less than an hour. No one was hurt. A cause of the fire has not been determined.

Fire investigators are looking for a cause after an early morning fire at a salvage yard in south Wichita. Nine cars caught fire around 2:30 in the 2700 block of s. West street. Damage is estimated at $2,000 No one was hurt.

The Salvation Army 2011 Mission of Hope announces that local income donations totaled $1,609,919. When the final fundraising numbers were recently tallied, the Army discovered a significant increase in donations from 2010. Wichita Commander Major Douglas Rowland says, "wW are grateful for the ongoing generosity of the Wichita community.We were blessed to experience a five percent increase from last year here in Wichita. While on the national level, our organization set a fundraising record.

A south Wichita barn is a total loss after a fire Tuesday afternoon. It happened in the 6700 block of S. Ida. A homeowner came outside and noticed the fire, then called emergency crews. Fire investigators say the barn sustained about $8,000 in damage. Some hay bales outside of the barn also caught fire. No one was hurt. No word yet on a cause.

A Wichita standoff has ended without any injuries. Members of the SWAT team were called out to a domestic disturbance in the 3900 block of E. Cessna around nine o'clock Sunday morning. Police say a man and woman are inside the home. Officers evacuated nearby homes as a precaution. Police convinced the two people to come out of the house around noon. The man was taken into custody.

Two people are shot early Sunday morning outside of a Wichita nightclub. Police were called to the Wichita ballroom in the area of Kellogg & West Street just after 1 a.m. When they arrived they found a shooting victim in the parking lot. Sgt. Kenneth Kimble says the victim is in his 20's.  He does not appear to have life threatening injuries. Authorities also discovered that a second shooting victim had left the scene for the hospital.  He was described as an employee of the business in his 30's.

By Roger Cornish (WICHITA, Kan.) Star Wars: In Concert is coming to Wichita. The multimedia event will be at the INTRUST Bank Arena for two performances May 22. Star Wars in Concert features music for all six of John Williams' scores from the movie series. The production features a full symphony orchestra and choir, accompanied by specially edited footage from the films on a three-story high-definition LED screen. Tickets to Star Wars in Concert go on sale March 13th.

A Wichita man has been sentenced to federal prison for committing robberies at five local businesses.      53 year old James L. Simmons, Jr., was sentenced Wednesday to 188 months. He pleaded guilty to a series of five robberies in Wichita during which he threatened clerks with violence, including:   Harry Street Liquor, 3120 E. Harry, Nov. 10, 2010. Tocs Coffeehouse, 1519 George Washington Boulevard, Nov. 16, 2010. Quick Trip, 1610 E. Lincoln, May 14, 2011. Dollar General Store, 2747 E. Boulevard Plaza, May 15, 2011.
