It's a nearly ten year tradition in Kansas City - drinking beer for cancer patients. It's called Crawl for Cancer . Wichita is about to become the 17th city in the country to host the pub crawl fundraiser. Mark your calendar for Saturday, September 18. You could describe Wichita's old town as slow on a weekday afternoon. But one person sees it differently. "We have a perfect venue for it, all the bars are really close to each other, walking distance," said Byron Watkins.

Johnny Depp's new movie, "Rum Diary" has been struggling at the box office, so far earning only about five million dollars. His excuse? He told Britain's Guardian newspaper that he expected his film to earn about thirteen dollars in Wichita because it's only in the bigger cities in the United States where people are interested in "intelligent films. " We asked Wichita moviegoers outside the Old Town Warren Theatre what they think about that, and as you might expect they're not crazy about Depp's insinuation that they're not intelligent.

By Roger Cornish (WICHITA, Kan) UPDATE: There should be an end to some stop and go traffic in northeast Wichita. Tuesday the Wichita city council approved installing a traffic synchronization system. Lights at 500 intersections could all be synchronized to put a stop to all the stopping for drivers. Federal stimulus money will pay for the 590-thousand dollar project... Which will take a couple years to finish. –@ By Kim Hynes (WICHITA, Kan.) As soon as you drive through a green light, it's often time to hit the breaks again.

Firefighters are on the seen of a house fire in the 1800 hundred block of S. Lulu in Wichita. There are no reports of any injuries. Haz-mat crews were dispatched because of reports of a possible meth lab. Upon closer inspection, crews did not find any indication of meth production. Eyewitness News has a crew on the scene. Paramedics take two people to a Wichita hospital after a stabbing late Friday night. The stabbing happened just after ten o'clock at a massage parlor in the 2200 block of N. Ridge. Police say the suspect went to the business for a massage, then he tried to rob the masseuse. The store owner stepped in to help, the suspect stabbed him and the masseuse. They were taken to the hospital in serious condition but have since been upgraded to fair condition. Police are still looking for a suspect.

With dance and song, members of the Phap Hoa Temple, 4706 N. Arkansas Ave in Wichita, welcomed a near-nine foot tall statue of Buddha. Known as the Jade Buddha, it's hand carved by a Thai mason from a single piece of Canadian jade. It's currently traveling the world, and organizers of the tour say it's spreading a message of peace. The Jade Buddha will be on display until April 19, then it will be going to Chicago.

(WICHITA, Kan.) You could call Gary and Jean Rogers super Saints fans. You'll be able to identify them around town by their Saints car.  One of their sons found the car on eBay. When he got it, he added the saints decals and a "who dat" license plate. One evening he drove it to his dad's house and Gary says he just had to have it! Gary grew up in Louisiana. Even though he moved away several years ago, he never left "who dat" nation.
