Wichita police say a crash Friday morning could have been much worse.  A woman loses control of her car, crashes through a fence and into a creek. It happened near Lincoln and Bluffview.  Police say the woman was pulling into a parking stall when she accidentally hit the gas pedal.   Eyewitnesses helped the woman out of her car.   She was not hurt, just shaken up a bit. Police tell us she likely escaped serious injury because she was wearing her seat belt.

The 2013 Ray Miron Presidents' Cup could fall into the hands of the Allen Americans tonight. Allen is coming off a dominant 5-1 win in Game 5 and could earn its first CHL title with a win in Wichita tonight. Wichita is coming off back-to-back losses and in both games they had the lead after one period with 1-0 leads. This match up is the Thunder's first elimination game of the post-season. Tonight marks the 10th Game 6 in CHL Finals history and in those games, the home team is 7-2.  Four times the team up 3-2 won the game thus winning the Cup. Wichita's Chad Painchaud has a goal and two assists during his current three-game point streak and has four goals and seven assists in the post-season.

Wichita police are investigating a child rape case. Police tell us a woman reported her seven-year-old son was raped by his babysitter's father.  The boy was taken to the hospital for testing. The 57-year-old man was arrested and booked into jail on aggravated indecent liberties charges and an outstanding warrant.

With their backs against the wall, Wichita (11-3) responded with a Game 6 victory at INTRUST Bank Arena Saturday night, defeating the Allen Americans (11-7) by the final of 3-2 and forcing a decisive Game 7 tomorrow night in Allen. Three different Thunder players found the back of the net in the first period and Torrie Jung won his 11th game of the post-season. Wichita will play in just its fourth Game 7 all-time and its first since the 2004-05 Northern Conference Semifinals against Bossier-Shreveport.

Courtesy of Wichita State - WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State scored two runs in the ninth inning but that was not enough as they could not overcome a four-run fifth inning from the Creighton Bluejays as the Shockers dropped the series opener 6-5 on Friday night at Eck Stadium. The Shockers scored the first two runs of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning, taking advantage of two walks and two hit batsmen from Creghton starter Tommy Strunc. Tyler Baker singled with one out before Casey Gillaspie walked, Micah Green and Erik Harbutz were hit by a pitch, and Mikel Mucha drew a walk to give Wichita State the 2-0 lead.

"We don't want this to happen to anybody in politics or, you know, on the street.  We want to make sure everybody's protected," said James Clendenin, a Wichita City Councilman.  That's why Crimestoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for what appears to be political vandalism. Two different candidates, two separate attacks, but a single concern, the safety of the public and its servants.  And now private donors have come forward to offer a reward through Crimestoppers. "I didn't really know what to think," said Clendenin about the vandalism to his vehicle.  "I was so shocked.

Wichita police are asking the public for help as they try to figure out what happened in a W. Wichita parking lot late Sunday. "There are some things that seem a little bit out of place," said Wichita Police Spokesman Lt. Doug Nolte. Police say it all started at the Best Buy on W. Kellogg at around 9:00. The 62-year-old victim and a man in his thirties were in a parked car when the younger man took the keys and left the man stranded. Police say the victim called the man who took his keys and was told that someone else would bring them back to him. At around 9:30, a car pulled up with the man who took the keys and another man. One of them got out and threatened the victim with a black long-barreled pistol and demanded his wallet and checkbook.

Wichita police arrest a West High student who was overheard making threats against the school. The Wichita School District says it notified police Friday after other students came forward about the threatening statements.  The district says the student didn't have any weapons and didn't have access to weapons. However, even if it's just talk the district says it takes the threats seriously.

The Wichita School District is considering spending $3 million to upgrade its security system.  The issue will go before the school board tonight. Be sure to keep with Eyewitness News for any updates as they become available. "It's absolutely vital. I mean, we have to maintain the safety and security of our buildings," said Wichita School Superintendent John Allison. With analog cameras, aging modems and a piece meal system, Allison says it's time to upgrade and streamline the system for safety and education.

At Planeview Park where kids play baseball, two eight-year-old boys say they were walking out of the men's room.  They say one of the them was grabbed by a man who tried to pull him into a Budget rental truck.  The boy broke free.  The would-be abductor jumped in the truck and drove off.
