After watching his team turn it over 20 times against Oklahoma last weekend, Frank Martin had plenty of teaching points at practice.  The 22 points that OU scored off those turnovers went a long way in ending KSU's modest three game win streak.  Their 'handle' needs to be a lot better as they head to Iowa State tonight. The Cyclones are the surging team in the Big 12, coming off a win over KU last weekend to improve to 15-6(5-3 Big 12).  An interesting collection of transfers has taken a little time to jell under Head Coach Fred Hoiberg and, in Royce White, boast one of the most dynamic talents in the Big 12.  His size(6'8”)

Multiple turnovers, bad possessions and unlucky shooting doomed 18th ranked Kansas State (12-3, 1-3) as they fell to Oklahoma (11-5, 1-3) today 82-73 in Norman. This is the Wildcats' second consecutive conference loss and it's their 4th overall in conference play.  Kansas State has just one conference win and that was a week ago at home against then undefeated Missouri. Rodney Mcgruder led the 'Cats with 19 points and 10 rebounds.  Four Wildcats scored in double-figures including Jeremy Jones who proved to be the spark for K-state in the first half.  At one point Jones was 5 of 7 from the field while the rest of the Kansas State team was 6 of 27 shooting.

It seemed like the gap between the KU and K-State programs had closed after the 2009-10 season and with K-State beginning this season as a pre-season top three team in the country. But following a 90-66 Jayhawk drubbing to K-State, it seems like the gap has grown wider. KU (20-1) was good in the first half, great in the second half and the Wildcats (14-8) were simply bad. Shooting only 33 percent from the floor, a dismal 19 percent in the first half. This game was a cathartic release for Kansas and especially Thomas Robinson who endured a terribly tragic three weeks where he lost both his grandparents and his mother, Lisa, and attended her funeral on Thursday.
